Working Together
Working with me is straightforward. I keep things simple, direct, and focused on progress. Most organisations bring me in when something matters, when clarity is needed, or when leadership bandwidth is stretched. My job is to help you move faster and with more confidence, without adding noise, drama or complexity.
This page explains what it’s like to work with me and how engagements typically run, so you know exactly what to expect.
What it’s like to work with me
Creativity happens, and people thrive, in environments where respect is the norm, challenge is welcomed and curiosity is expected.
I use simple language, I love metaphors, and I have an allergy to performative bullshit. I don't try to sound clever with unnecessary jargon and I encourage teams to call it out when they see it.
I'm open and I'm direct. I ask questions to build understanding and encourage reflection. Politics, ego, bullshit and disrespect have no place in effective teams because they get in the way of focusing on what really matters.
If we work together, you get someone who’s steady under pressure, open and honest, and fully invested in helping you make progress, without drama, noise or unnecessary complexity.
How an engagement works
Most of my work starts with a short conversation to understand the situation and whether I’m the right fit. If we decide to proceed, the early steps are straightforward:
- Initial conversation to understand the context, objectives, and constraints
- Familiarisation with the leadership team, key stakeholders, and existing plans
- Identifying opportunities where senior advisory support will make the biggest difference
- Agreeing the engagement shape, mapping the needs of your business to the services I offer
- Exploring commercial structures that work best for your budget and the value you want to protect or create
- Establishing a work rhythm that meets your needs: remote advisory, structured check‑ins, or deeper involvement when needed
My role is to bring clarity, judgement and momentum, not to become embedded as staff. Engagements are flexible, senior, and focused on outcomes, not hours.
How I work day‑to‑day
Most engagements run with a simple rhythm:
- Regular check‑ins with the executive or leadership team
- Targeted deep‑dives into the areas where clarity or progress is most needed
- Shaping key outputs such as decision papers, recovery plans, or leadership communications
- Advisory availability for real‑time judgement calls, sense‑checking, and decision support
I work remotely most of the time, with in‑person sessions at the start and beyond when they genuinely add value. The aim is always the same: help you make better decisions, faster and with less noise.
What you can expect
You get a senior advisor who:
- Brings clarity to complex situations
- Operates calmly under pressure
- Challenges constructively without ego
- Focuses on outcomes rather than activity
- Works independently without needing management or direction
The goal is simple: help you make meaningful progress, quickly and without unnecessary complexity.
